Impoundment leak detection,
location, and containment system An impoundment leak detection, location, and containment system comprises an impermeable grid having a plurality of leak detection modules positioned below the impoundment. A tunnel is located adjacent the impermeable grid, and a plurality of conduits provide fluid communication between each of the leak detection modules and the tunnel. Fluid leaking from the impoundment accumulates in the leak detection module directly below the leak and flows through the associated conduit where it is detected by a fluid sensor. The location of the leak is determined based on the known location of the leak detection module accumulating fluid.
